The EDGAR ("Electronic Data Gathering Analysis and Retrieval") System permits filers to submit their financial information as either ASCII or HTML formatted documents. Basically all SEC filers must file electronically by means of the EDGAR system. EDGAR supports and has an effect on three interrelated, groups:
